Co-Founder


Chris Olsen

Chris Olsen spent more than a decade in the television news business, working for both ABC and NBC affiliates in Kansas, Texas and West Virginia. Chris has been a Sports Anchor, Morning News Anchor, Weekend News Anchor, Reporter, Photographer and Producer. With experience at KSNT-TV, KVII-TV, WSAZ-TV, there isn’t a job in TV he can’t do! Besides hosting public events and TV shows, Chris has done freelance work for national networks covering violent crimes, forces of nature, and numerous elections. His reports have been seen by a global audience by way of TMZ, FOX News, CNN, MSNBC and many other global news outlets and as an individual broadcaster Chris has won dozens of state, regional and national awards.

With storytelling experience and an ability to connect a community using video, Chris is the spokesperson capable of marketing your business. Olsen’s newsroom experience puts him in the position to help your business grow by effectively communicating your message. He can shoot, produce, report, and send a message in very few words. No one knows the way a newsroom works better than a TV News Anchor who has been there, and that makes Chris the perfect person to help you get your message across.

In 2012 Chris was able to add a few startup accolades to the list, helping him build some street cred in the entrepreneurial community as FINDitKC was named one of Kansas City’s Hottest Startups by Tech Cocktail (Tech.co), he was named one of the Top Young Entrepreneurs to Watch in the United States by Under30CEO, and FINDitKC was also nominated as one of the KC Chamber’s Small Businesses of the year.

Outside of business Chris enjoys spending time with his family including his wife, Kristy, and daughters, Elizabeth Capri and Heidi Lee. He also enjoys a good hunt with his English Pointer Dixie (especially the Clark Family’s Annual South Dakota Pheasant Hunt in Aberdeen, South Dakota).

Miles Combs – Manager

Miles Combs grew up in Wichita, KS, and attended Kansas State University. He graduated with a BS in Hotel & Restaurant Management and a minor in Business Administration. Miles spent many years in college working at Colbert Hills Golf Course and loved it. After graduating from Miles spent 4 years working at a country club in Chicago, IL. (Even though he has 7+ years working at a golf course, Miles claims he is still horrible at the sport.)

In the fall of 2011, Miles ran into a fraternity brother from K-State, Chris Olsen, co-founder of FINDitKC. After catching up with Chris and hearing about the business he had started in KC, Miles was eager to become part of the team. Miles started his career with FINDitKC as a Sales Rep, but soon moved to Client Relations. Miles is happy to be working at FINDitKC and loves living in KC.

 

 


Production Team


Sarah Rucker – Manager

SarahSarah Rucker works in the Production department and is a recent Kansas City transplant and a 2011 graduate of Ohio University (Bobcats…not Buckeyes). She spent her college years working on the television show Ohio Sports Zone and graduated with a degree in Media Management. Sarah worked in the camera department on the feature film Unbroken for Stormcatcher Productions, and also as an editing intern on the documentary When the Drum is Beating (an official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival).
When she is not editing, Sarah coaches JV basketball at Pembroke Hill. She has affinity for alien movies and musicals, and her biggest goal in life is to defeat Barack Obama in a game of basketball (that’s a lie, but it’s quite the goal, you must admit).

 

Brian Olsen

BrianBrian Olsen has been a video photographer and video editor since he was a senior in high school. Durning his time at Kansas State University he worked for KSNT-TV, KTKA-TV in Topeka and also a rivals-based website, gopowercat.com. While working in the television industry, Brian gained experience capturing various footage ranging from violent shootings to rambunctious K-State bowl games. There isn’t anything Brian is not willing to film and not a shoot he will shy way from. He is always up to the task of helping your business succeed through the eyes of his camera.
In his spare time, Brian likes to spend time with family and friends. Brian also enjoys fishing in the Colorado Rockies, hiking and would love to learn to play the guitar someday.

 

Colton Crook

ColtonColton Crook is originally from Waterloo Illinois and recently moved to the Kansas City area. Colton’s father was a photographer and his early exposure to cameras inspired his interest in the field of production. Colton graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications TV/Film. His emphasis was Video Production. Prior to working at FINDitKC, Colton was an independent contractor at St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he put together video packages of various events and trending stories around the hospital.
Colton truly enjoys filming and editing video and is glad to have found a place where his education and experience to being put to good work.

 

Steve Biegun – Motion Graphics

Steve Biegun SB_2Steve Biegun works in the Production department as the Motion Graphics Artist. Basically, he handles the things that you see in a video that aren’t recorded with a camera. Steve recently moved to Kansas City from Detroit, where he studied Digital Video Production and Motion Design.

When he isn’t creating graphics for FINDitKC, Steve spends his time recording music, studying 3D animation, and relaxing with his wife. His goal is to continue working at FINDitKC, and to see Motion Design become an even more integral part of video production as a whole.

 

 

 

Nichole Schafer – Intern

NicholeNichole Schafer is originally from Cleveland, OH and graduated from Ohio University in 2010 with a Bachelors of Communications for Video Production. After leaving Ohio Nichole went to Hawaii for an underwater video production internship where she spent her time scuba diving and shooting underwater video of dolphins, manta rays and turtles. Since then she has moved to the Kansas City area and currently works as a Producer for JCAV-TV at Johnson County Community College while also interning with FINDitKC. Nichole enjoys watching movies, singing karaoke and attending Michigan football games with her family every fall. One of her goals in life is to go cage diving with great white sharks and to capture it all on video.

Brendan Scarffe – Business Development Manager

Brendan Scarffe grew up in Lawrence, KS where he attended the University of Kansas after high school. Over the last 14 years Brendan developed a successful track record of sales and management, specifically in the media and advertising industry. Just prior to helping launch FINDit he had been running 3 small local magazines for 4 years. Brendan sold his company to help launch FINDit, because he saw the trends of effective marketing moving online. His passion for helping other companies grow is what drives him to share the FINDit difference. In his spare time Brendan spends time with his wife, two boys and daughter.

 

 

 

 

 


Social Media


Kelsey Zirkle

Kelsey Zirkle, Social Media and Online Reputation Manager at FINDitKC, graduated from Kansas State University in 2008 with a BS in Dance. Kelsey worked in retail management, marketing and merchandising for a number of years before transitioning into online marketing and social media management.
Kelsey was introduced to social media in 2004 with the creation of Facebook and has continued to gain working knowledge in the field through managing various business and personal accounts across a variety of platforms.
When she isn’t at the FINDitKC office, Kelsey can be found at the dance studio (her other office) teaching ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and modern dance to kids of all ages. Kelsey enjoys spending her free time with family and friends. She also enjoys occasionally escaping from modern technology by reading a “real” book or visiting her family’s farm in southern Kansas.
