History
Dr. Tom Eagle began Eagle Animal Hospital in 1947. At the time, Eagle was one of the first animal hospitals north of the river. The original hospital was created from the old James Farm dairy barn.
Dr. Tom Noyes purchased the clinic from Dr. Eagle in 1968. The practice continued to grow with the increasing population of the northland. Dr. Noyes expanded the hospital to our current facility in 1992. Dr. Jim Sparks joined the staff of Eagle Animal Hospital in 1979. He became the owner in 1996 and has continued the tradition of high quality animal care. Some of the advancements that Dr. Sparks has brought to the clinic include laser surgery, in house bloodwork, digital x-ray, pain management, and advanced anesthetic protocols.
At Eagle Animal Hospital, we offer care for pets of all kinds, from dogs and cats, to some exotics and pocket pets! Some of the services we offer include vaccinations, spaying and neutering, traditional surgery and laser surgery, x-ray, blood work, dental care, microchip identification for dogs and cats, boarding, and bathing, just to name a few. For your convenience, we also carry a variety of prescription diet foods and pet supplies, such as toys, shampoo, and more!
Boarding
Eagle Animal Hospital offers boarding services for all sizes of dogs and cats. In order to ensure that your pet remains healthy during his or her stay with us we require that your pet be current on their vaccinations and free of internal and external parasites.
Dentistry
More than 85% of dogs and cats older than four years of age have periodontal disease. Unless daily tooth brushing is performed tartar (A combination of food, bacteria, and plaque) will begin to form on your pets teeth. This bacteria, can lead to infection which can loosen and destroy the attachment of the tooth. This infection can further spread to the liver, heart, and kidneys.
Internal Medicine
Our internal medicine service consists of diagnosing and treating diseases. This involves ophthalmology (eyes), Cardiology (heart), Gastrointestinal, Urinary Tract, Liver, Dermatology, and everything in between. The skin is also a very important organ that can assist in the diagnosis of what is going on in the body.
Senior Wellness
An aging pet’s organs gradually deteriorate and may lose their ability to function properly. We use senior testing to promote early detection and treatment of disease, so we can maintain health and prevent illness during your pet’s senior years. Early detection of disease often gives us more effective and less costly treatment options. And senior testing helps establish normal baseline values for your pet, creating a point of comparison for the future.
Surgery
Eagle Animal Hospital offers a wide range of surgical procedures including soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, tumor removal, declawing, spaying, neutering, and laser surgery. Surgery is performed in our designated surgical suite where sterile draping, gowns, and instruments are used. Before any surgical procedure takes place bloodwork is performed to assess internal organ function.During surgery, our patients are individually monitored by a trained technician. Monitoring parameters include ECG, blood oxygen levels, respiration, temperature, and heart rate.
Wellness Exam
Your pet’s physical exam is the most important part of the office visit. It assesses all body systems, giving vital information to the veterinarian. Because dogs and cats age seven times faster than humans it is important to have your pets health checked every year. Below is a brief summary of the physical exam.Prevention is the main goal of early wellness exams. Having your veterinarian see your pet on a regular basis can help pets avoid preventable diseases. Wellness exams also allow us to tailor a specific vaccination protocol for your pet.
