FINDitKC Networking Event Recap: Google, Lantern… Visibility Oh My!

By Chris Olsen, Founder of FINDitKC

I would like to say thank you for making our first ever FIKC networking event a success. We had a great turnout and now can look forward to growing for our next event.

That being said, we would like to announce our next FINDitKC Networking event will be held at The Rub Bar-B-Que and Catering on November 13, 2012. We are still working out the details for the event, but are thinking of having a donation pot to help those in need for the holidays since they are right around the corner. Keep an eye out for emails detailing the next event. If you are not getting our emails, please fill out this form to make sure you are on our list. We send all sorts of relevant information we call “Keeping Up with FINDitKC.”

In case you missed it, here’s a recap of our networking event:

We had the privilege of learning more about the Google Fiber project in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri from Google’s Community Manager Rachel Hack. We arranged this for FIKC clients to ask questions about what more people using the Internet, especially at 100x the speed, could mean for visibility online. We are excited that more folks in KC will be connected online. This means more traffic for all of us and in turn, more video views! ;)

We also had the privilege of announcing our partnership with Lantern Software. They offer a new take on daily deals that puts the business in the driver’s seat. Instead of paying 50% of everything to companies like Groupon or LivingSocial, leaving you struggling to pay the bills, you pay just $1 per redemption. You control the deal 100%, from when it runs and number of deals available, to turning it off if demand is too high. At this point, all Lantern clients will have a button on their page linking to the app, but in the future, people will also be able to push and redeem Lantern deals via FINDitKC.com, giving thousands the chance to save, and business the chance to attract new customers.

We also announced our partnership with Will Shields’ 68’s Inside Sports giving all of our clients and their employees CRAZY discounts on memberships.

Along with many other announcements, we also gave away Chiefs Tickets, Sales Training Courses at Sandler Training, a Video Business Card (or VBC), three month memberships at 68’s Inside Sports, and a football signed by future Hall of Famer and former Chief Will Shields.

Again, thanks to those who attended and made our first networking event a success… and remember to look out for details regarding our next networking event on November 6, 2012!
