A Q&A with Taste Owner, Jonathon Dallen:

FIKC: What sets your restaurant apart from the others?

JD: I think what sets us apart from other restaurants is our diverse cuisine and our location in Downtown Overland Park. I would like to call the menu… world cuisine or fusion.

FIKC: What do you do to keep people coming back?

JD: I feel what keeps people coming back first and foremost is simply the food, the variety of options for the bar and the wine selection.

FIKC: Do you have a specialty?

JD: The specialty at Taste is having the option to do a chef tasting, where we design a menu specifically for your party.

FIKC: Do you have a specialty dish?

JD: A few favorites at the restaurant are the Piquant Tempora Shrimp, the Seared Scallops with Risotto, and the Plum Wine Braised Short Ribs.

FIKC: How long have you been around?

JD: Taste has been open for about 2 and 1/2 years.

FIKC: Describe the ambiance of Taste?

JD: People say the ambiance of Taste is like being in an old brick building in Downtown Chicago. Dark, romantic, live music on the weekends, etc.

FIKC: Why is this the perfect place to propose, or have a special dinner?

JD: Taste is perfect for your special event because we will provide a personal dining experience from your server to where you sit, and the menu.

FIKC: What makes you a Kansas City staple?

JD: Our location in Downtown Overland Park is said to have been the anchor of revitalizing a historic area.

FIKC: Do you cater? If so describe what type of events…

JD: We will cater any event from business meetings to weddings to in-home private parties, etc.
